About your Instructor

Juliana Brock, CMI for Power Training brings 26 years experience in the Mortgage Industry during which time she created work practices that increased production and minimized costly mistakes.

Ms. Brock has been a workshop presenter for the National Association of Professional Mortgage Women. Oklahoma Mortgage Brokers and Texas Mortgage Brokers. Juliana has experience in multiple levels of the mortgage industry giving her the diversity needed to accurately address questions and loan file scenarios.

She is known for her approach as she has a way of reaching the participants and making sure that they understand the material.

Ms. Brock is a member of the Texas Mortgage Bankers Association (TMBA), National Association of Professional Mortgage Women (NAPMW) from which she received her Certified Mortgage Instructor Designation and Notaries of America.

Ms. Brock is a published author in Mortgage Originator Magazine and Notes and Deeds (NAPMW Quarterly Publication). 

Additional Instructors

Michael McFarland has fifteen years of sales and management experience, becoming a seasoned mortgage and sales professional.  Michael is experienced in all aspects of the mortgage origination process from originating loans, to managing a client base as a wholesale account executive and mortgage/title insurance sales representative, to running a wholesale mortgage operation and regional sales force.  In 2007 Michael earned his Certified Mortgage Banker designation from the Mortgage Bankers Association.  This experience allows him to be able to address the real training needs of today's Loan Officer's and what they face in this new and changing market.   

Michael has designed the KRAVE concept which increases production by helping sales people focus their sales efforts on the right clients.  He believes the difference between top sales people is measured by how smart they work.  Experience coupled with a dynamic speaking and presenting style inspires his audience and provides practical tools to succeed in any market.

Barbara Kennedy In 1978 Barbara began a career in mortgage lending.  Her focus has been helping people in the community achieve the American dream of homeownership.  Through her personal experience and training, she provides workshops in the community for consumers and professionals requiring current information on mortgage loan programs.  Her community involvement extends to industry related associations including the Austin Mortgage Bankers where she held the position of Treasurer and helped on various committees.  She is an excellent addition to the Power Training team as an active Broker/Loan Officer she can diversely and affectively train and lead others entering the industry.


bobby mcbride Bobby McBride brings over 15 years of mortgage experience to Power Training and over 20 years of experience in the consumer credit reporting industry.   Bobby has a unique perspective to the industry of credit reporting and credit scoring which he is able to share with attendees making their knowledge and ability to troubleshoot the credit report a plus in any market.    

Bobby’s association in sales and management at the three major credit repositories gives him insight into the dynamics of the credit report, credit score and how to maximize the knowledge of the credit report in the origination of loans.  An accomplished presenter on all things credit – Bobby is often asked to share his vast knowledge with different trade organizations.  Bobby is an active member of the National Association of Mortgage Brokers, serving the mortgage community as the Treasurer of the Central Texas Association of Mortgage Brokers and Communications Chair of the Texas Association of Mortgage Brokers.

 

Karen Trevino has over 25 yrs experience in the mortgage industry, spending the first 10 years in the servicing end of mortgage lending doing everything from paying taxes and insurance, working foreclosures and bankruptcies to analyzing escrow accounts and handling customer relations.

Ms. Trevino has been an originator, processor, closer, underwriter and operations manager, just to name a few! She has been the owner of a Contract Mortgage Processing Service for the past two years and is now an active trainer. Having this experience gives Karen the ability to train learners in "real world" scenarios, giving them the tools they need to realize their talent.

Ms. Trevino has been a member of the National Association of Professional Mortgage Women since 1996 and is the immediate Past President for the San Antonio Association.

Ellie Wade is the owner of Mortgage Makers since July, 1995 and worked in the Mortgage Industry in banking since 1974.

Ellie assisted in passing legislation for licensing and continuing education in Oklahoma for Mortgage Brokers and Loan Officers. Ellie is a Past President of Oklahoma Association of Mortgage Brokers – 1999-2000; Past President of National Association of Professional Mortgage Women Oklahoma City (2002-2003), National Secretary for NAPMW (2006-2007) in addition to holding several positions over the years on the boards of OAMB and NAPMW-OKC.

Ellie was the first in the State of Oklahoma to receive GML(Graduate of Mortgage Lending) and her MML(Master of Mortgage Lending), May 2000. She is currently working on CRMS designation through NAMB.  Ellie has been teaching NAMB courses for 4 years.

Mary Jane Brock has worked as a Realtor for 25 years and as a Bank Loan Officer for 7 years and now as the owner of National Mortgage Lending, LLC. Power Training is excited to have Mary Jane brings her expertise as an instructor to you. Having been a Realtor and Loan Officer, Mary Jane can give you the insight on both sides of the transaction. As a Realtor she earned the GRI designation and is a licensed Mortgage Broker.

Special Guest Instructors
Loan Officer and Mortgage Broker licensing candidates will benefit from several Guest Speakers that commit time to work Power Training to bring information that affects the "real side" of the industry.

In Module One you will meet Heath Hanson with Absolute Residential Appraisals and be introduced to the appraisal process and underwriting requirements.  The presentation will be engaging and help you understand the market around you. 

In that same Module, you will meet April Downey and Dina Mata-Scott with Independence Title who will walk you through a title commitment, what a title company function is and how they are an intricate part of the loan process. 

In Module Four you will meet Joe Far with MBS Quoteline.  This will be a beginners look at the market, what drives pricing and how you can stay ahead of the game by knowing what is moving your market and how loans are priced.  You will also receive a 14 day free trial of their service for attending this session. 

In Module Seven you will meet either Angela Bujnoch with RMIC or Beverly Kerbow with PMI.  With the tremendous changes in our industry, knowing how to use Mortgage Insurance and the new requirements is crucial.  To wrap up you will meet Eduardo Sosa with Southwest Securities to cover the Commercial side of lending.  It will be a review of how to work up and submit commercial loans.
